Youth Aliyah An organisation founded in Germany in early 1933 to co-operate with Jewish youth movements for the resettlement in Palestine of parentless children and teenagers, particularly on kibbutzim. Actions leading to the establishment of the organisation began in 1932 by the initiative of Recha Freier. By the time World War II began, approximately 5,000 children and teenagers had emigrated from Germany to Palestine in this fashion. Youth Aliyah also helped 15,000 youngsters who did not receive Certificates to leave Germany, mostly to Great Britain.
